💍 Miss Universe Says Yes on a Montauk Beach
A Luxury Proposal Design with Roses, Candles & Atlantic Ocean Magic

You know those movie scenes where the guy proposes at sunset and everything’s so perfect it makes you believe in love again?
Yeah. That’s what happened here. But in real life.
Miss Universe Peru Camila Escribens and NY Jets wide receiver Allan Lazard got engaged on the beach at Gurney’s Montauk, and it was the kind of romantic, over-the-top moment that had everyone (including me) in their feelings.
And yes, the flowers were absolutely giving.

The Setting: A Heart of Roses, A Path to Forever
II created a candlelit rose path right in the sand, leading to a heart-shaped floral arch packed with white roses. In the center was a glowing neon sign that said “Will You Marry Me?” As if we weren’t already all crying 😭
The pastel sky over Gurney’s Montauk Resort gave us a light breeze, soft colors, and waves clapping in the background like they were cheering. The whole vibe was romance with a luxury twist, and it felt like time stood still for them.

The Dream Team That Made It Happen
No proposal magic happens without some behind-the-scenes fairy godmothers (and godfathers). This one was no exception.
Ginny Davis, the coordinator at Gurney’s, kept everything flowing beautifully. Even with sand in the mix, she made sure everything looked flawless and ran right on time.
The planner behind the whole experience was Mariabella Granocchia (IG: mariabellagranocchia) Her vision and attention to detail brought everything together in the most thoughtful way.
And let’s talk about the photos. Heather King (IG: heatherkingphotography) captured every teary moment and sweet detail with so much grace. The images? Unreal.

The Flowers: Clean, Chic, and Full of Drama (the good kind)
For this setup, I kept things classic and elevated. White roses took center stage, with a heart-shaped arch that made the perfect frame for their moment. Clear floral stands gave the designs a floating effect, and the candles added a soft, romantic glow just before sunset.
The goal was to enhance the beach, not overpower it. I wanted the florals to help tell their love story, not compete with it. And of course, Miss Universe needed a setup that felt worthy of her crown.
Whether you’re planning something sweet and private in Montauk, a full-blown party in the Hamptons, or a surprise proposal in NYC, I love creating floral moments that feel like a dream and photograph like art.
